Privacy Policy
Effective date: 6 July 2026
1. Who we are
Localquisition ("we", "us", "our") is a local business growth service, trading under Bosman Digital, based in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. We are committed to protecting your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Our Information Officer is Dian Bosman, registered with the Information Regulator of South Africa. For any privacy matter, request, or complaint, contact us at info@localquisition.com.
2. What information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Website visitors and enquiries: your name, business name, email address, phone number, industry, and the content of your message when you contact us through this website.
- Scheduling: when you book a call, our scheduling provider (Calendly) collects your name, email address, and chosen time slot.
- WhatsApp: if you message us on WhatsApp, your number and messages are processed through WhatsApp in line with its own privacy policy.
- Technical data: our hosting provider and analytics tools may record standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited, for security, performance, and analytics purposes.
- Prospective clients: where we identify your business through publicly available sources (such as Google Maps or your Google Business Profile) as part of our own business development, we may collect your business name, publicly listed phone number, email address, and publicly visible information about your online presence, in order to contact you about our services. See Section 4 below for how this is handled and how to opt out.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Respond to your enquiry and prepare proposals
- Schedule and hold meetings
- Deliver our services to you as a client
- Send communication directly related to your enquiry or engagement with us
- Contact prospective clients about our services, where your details were sourced from publicly available business listings (see Section 4)
- Understand how visitors use our website, so we can improve it (via analytics)
We do not sell your personal information. We do not send bulk, unsolicited marketing to lists purchased from third parties.
4. Direct marketing and business development outreach
As part of growing our business, we identify local trade and home-service businesses using publicly available sources such as Google Maps, Google Business Profiles, and public business directories. We may contact you directly (by phone, email, or WhatsApp) to introduce our services, using information that is already publicly listed by you or on your behalf.
Our lawful basis for this initial contact is our legitimate interest in reasonable, relevant business-to-business outreach, using only information you have already made public for the purpose of being found by potential customers. We do not use this information for any purpose beyond initiating contact about our services.
You can opt out at any time. If you do not wish to be contacted again, simply reply "stop" or tell us directly via any channel we've used to reach you, and we will remove your details from our outreach records and will not contact you again. We maintain a suppression list to honour these requests.
This section does not apply to communication with existing clients, which is based on our contractual relationship with you (see Section 3).
5. Third parties we work with
To operate this website and our services, limited personal information may be processed by trusted third-party providers, including:
- WhatsApp / Meta (messaging)
- Calendly (scheduling)
- Google (Analytics, Advertising, and Business tools, where applicable to your engagement)
- Our website hosting provider (Vercel)
- Our CRM provider (HubSpot)
- Our payment/debit-order provider (Netcash), for billing purposes only, where you are a client
Each of these providers has its own privacy policy, and we only share what is necessary for the relevant function. We do not permit these providers to use your information for their own independent marketing purposes.
Cross-border processing: some of these providers (including Google and WhatsApp/Meta) may process or store information on servers located outside South Africa. Where this occurs, we rely on these providers' own compliance with recognised international data protection standards, and we take reasonable steps to ensure your information remains protected to a standard consistent with POPIA.
6. Cookies and analytics
Our website uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site, including tracking interactions such as phone calls, WhatsApp clicks, and form submissions initiated from our website. This helps us understand what is working and improve our services. This data is used in aggregate and is not used to make decisions about you individually.
7. Where we act as an Operator
Where we deliver marketing services to a client, we may process personal information belonging to that client's own customers or leads (for example, enquiries generated through a client's website booking or contact form). In these cases, we act as an Operator under POPIA, processing that information only on the client's documented instructions, and only for the purpose of delivering the agreed services. We do not use this information for our own purposes, and we return or delete it as instructed by the client on termination of our services with them.
8. How long we keep your information
We keep enquiry and prospecting information for as long as needed to respond to you, or until you ask us to stop contacting you, whichever is sooner. Where you become a client, we retain information for the duration of our engagement, plus any period required for legal, accounting, or tax purposes thereafter. Information that is no longer needed for these purposes is securely deleted.
9. Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to:
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you
- Ask for it to be corrected or deleted
- Object to our processing of your information
- Withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa
To exercise any of these rights, email info@localquisition.com. We will acknowledge your request promptly and respond within a reasonable time, and in any event within the timeframes required by POPIA.
